sicky Saturday

Neve was saying she was "a little sick" so she wanted to snuggle together.  She fed me "muffins" (play cupcakes) and took care of me.  Charlie arranged stacks of books for us all to sit on in his room while he read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas to us.  Earlier in the day both kids were out cutting up branches with Randy - both wearing safety goggles.  Neve also had on her pink tutu and mismatched boots.  And a raincoat and a vest!  Charlie worked very hard at getting his toy chainsaw to work, and it all culminated in the kids bringing wood in for the first fire in the house.  Unfortunately it was anti-climactic because the wood was too green and didn't light.

A few days ago Neve was in her room while I was outside doing fall clean up with Charlie.  Turns out she colored her whole tummy and the inside of her belly button GREEN!  What a riot.  It came off today in the tub.  She remembered that she had colored under her arm too and washed that off.

Charlie was the hit of the Blueberry Party yesterday!  He recounted the story of Peta and the Squirrel for everyone!  I only wished I had caught it n video...my charming, very sweaty, five year old enchanting the crowd of 70 adults.  It was impromptu which made it even better.  "...And then there were only FOUR books left on the shelf.". At the time, Neve was in the back living room cutting the eyeballs off Nay Nay's animal plates.  Her highlight of the party may have been immersing herself completely in the bubble liquid and soaping herself up.  After getting all soapy, she divested herself of her suit and ran around outside, playing whiffle ball briefly, in her water shoes.
